Tea in the Caribbean

Hoping It Works-- Molly's part. "Caribbean Spring."

Let me see now... to tell the truth, I don't believe I've ever done a post like this before, so this is a new thing for me. First off, let me start with my shirt, which is where the spring part for my outfit comes from. Anne-girl thought of the name, and I think it fits. The shirt is light pink, and very springish, perfect for getting out of winter blues! Err, whites, it should be whites, for snow, you know. Sink Me! I'm a bit of a poet! Hmm, I getting off subject.

Ahem. Anyways, my shirt is nice and easy, with no fluff or show, but I think it is very pretty and goes wonderfully with....

Blue! Blue, like the Caribbean, which is the other part of my outfit's name. The skirt is very swirly and flairy, if that's even a word. I don't think it is. Oh well, no matter. :D It gives a nice free look to the outfit and contrasts nicely with the shirt.

My sandals are new, my grandmom got them for me when we went shopping at the mall last week, I think it was. I love them! There is a bit of a heel in the back, but not too much, and the crisscrossed laces or thongs or whatever make them look rather grownup, in my eyes.

Well, hopefully that wasn't too bad for a first time. Perhaps I'll get the knack of this one day!

Tea or Coffee?
"Right sir that is difficult!"
"That's not the decision you fool!"

Apologies. Sometimes my Horrible Histories obsession get's the better of me.  Anyway my sister Molly and I are starting this fashion blog because we wish to learnt he art of looking put together.

I call this outfit Tea or Coffee and I'm actually really pleased with it. The sequined circle skirt is one of my favorites and dresses up any outfit. Originally I started with a black and white patterned skirt, this white tee shirt and a small periwinkle shrug.  But then I realized that the tee shirt still had a small stain visible on it that hadn't come out in the wash. Bummer. So I switched to the black tie-sweater and then realized that I was wearing a black top with a black skirt. I looked in the mirror and it looked fine. But fine was not what I was going for. So I dove back into the closet and came back with the sequin skirt. Perfect.

Why I hope it works
The fashion formula I've heard a million times is Statement piece + neutral grounding piece+ complementary piece+ accessories. My statement piece is the fun swirly skirt, it says "fearless but feminine" like tea. Add a simple black top. Black complements brown, sleek goes with warm and the coffee colors builds on the theme. Now for the cream. The white shirt keeps the outfit from being too dark and  the necklace adds a touch of elegance and the brown flats tie it all together. Simple yet pretty.
